Oslo 2.0
Day 10: August 9th
After arriving in Oslo, we went searching for our hotel. In the evening, it started to rain again. However, we still decided that we wanted to do the laundry, so we went looking in the pouring rain for a laundromat. Once in the store, we met a nice British guy who was traveling across Scandinavia. He had started in Sweden, was now in Oslo and wanted to travel to the north of Norway at some point. Nice stories were shared.
Day 11: August 10th
This was by far the day with the best weather of the whole backpacking trip: no rain, 24 degrees. Just perfect! We began the day at the Oslo Opera House, with some nice views.
Then we hit the city, shopped a bit, and drank a smoothie at Joe & The Juice, my new favorite smoothie bar. They have a wide selection of drinks as well as snacks that go great with them.
Afterwards, we went to Adventure Rooms to participate in an escape room. It was a really fun and exciting experience. Unfortunately, we did not escape in time, but we were very close. A great ending to our backpacking trip!
Day 12: August 11th
Traveling day from Oslo to Alta, my final destination. This time I traveled by train to Oslo airport, to take the flight to Alta. On the plane, I met a Norwegian guy who would also be studying at UiT. Super cool!
Once there, I got to see my room and the student house. I really liked it; first impressions were good. Then my hosts took me on a surprise trip around the city. I met a lot of people from City Scene (it is described in the other blog about Alta) and some other students. A few of us decided to cook together. In the evening we met other students that were also staying in Komsa. A great experience.
Ps. All Alta experiences are described in the Alta blog.
