Yes, true. In Japan there is a Picasso Open-air museum but the museum isn't just concreating Picasso, which is nice.
::The amazing experience starts already before the museum when you travel on a train from Odawara to Hakone because it goes up to the mountains.
::The Hakone Open-Air museum is a wide park and when I visited museum this winter it was still autumn in Japan and the colours were tryly amazing. I loved it.
::Outside there are several statues and they are so different but each them are interesting. I'm sure that everyone will find a favourite or many.
::This boy is one of my favourite ones.
::There is also a very fun playground for children under 12. Look at this!
::There is also a inside museum for Picasso's work (photographs not allowed). Two other buildings are a café and museum shop and a further field you can find this tower which you can climb up and see the view.
But no, this is not yet everything because there is also an onsen for feet! A very big part of Japenese culture is an onsen which is a hot spa where the water comes from hot springs. After walking around museum area you may want to relax your feet in onsen. It's free of charge but you can buy a small towel to dry your feet but it's not necessary. The water was so warm and a very special experince, warm water - cool air. Try it!
(I'm the pale Finn in left).
So are you already booking your tickets! :) The museum is easy to reach from Tokyo and I'll recommened it strongly. And reserve at least two hours for the museum.
Happy travelings! ありがとうございます for reading.
