Nürnberg Volksfest

First of all I have to say that this popular event takes place each year between the end of August and the beginning of September (this year it was from 24. 08. 2012 to 09. 09. 2012) so maybe if you arrive in different periods, you can't participate in it.

Volk in german means "folk" (they sound similar too) in fact it's a huge party organized for all "nürnberger" people and tourists too, for kids, young people and the older ones, for families, couples or groups.

There you can find lots of games and rides for which you have to pay. So the entrance is free but if you like to do something (not just eating or drinking) you have to pay a little amount of money. Once in your life you should try it, especially if you don't have the same in your original country.

In our group there were three girls coming from Jordan and they were really and completely astonished about these rides. In their point of view it was such an amazing experience going there and trying everything... so that could happen also to you!

This place it's a little bit far away from the city center, it's near Dutzendteich, so you can reach it even by tram number 6. Then you will hear loud music and see lots of lights and colours so you couldn't get lost.

If you meet here in Nürnberg some people, ask them to go there together: you can just sit down and order some beers or even have dinner there and it will be a small unforgettable Oktoberfest.
