What is it like to live in Norwich? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

It's ideal for students and you get the best of both worlds: the countryside and a lively city, hence it is a typical place to bring up a family. It's also a heaven for cyclists! Not a majorly multicultural town though- the population consists mainly of Norfolk locals of the region. However, the university accommodates numerous international students, particularly from China, France, Spain and America.

No, there is a student housing association within the university which helps students find the cheapest or nearest houses. Also, there are specific housing areas around that allocate you with other students who may want to share a house. Finally, living in halls is common as bills are already included in the rent.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

There are endless fast-food outlets along Prince of Wales Road, and there are high street restaurants such as Nandos, Prezzo etc. There is also the Waffle house which offers tasty treats. I personally like the Moorish Falafal Bar food. Latin American food is quite popular in Norwich with Revolution Cuba, as traditional music and entertainment are offered.

What places would you recommend visiting in Norwich?

Odeon or Vue cinemas have the latest films but Vue is perhaps more convenient as it is directly in the shopping centre. Jarrods, is a unique department store in the UK, similar to Debenhams or House of Fraser. Generally dear, but great for arts and crafts. Castle Mall and Chapfield are the two main shopping centres. There are plenty of great cosy tea places such as Biddy's. The Playhouse is a quirky, social place to have drinks with friends, with such creative decor around. It also hires its venue to show high standard theatre plays.
