What is it like to live in Nizhniy Novgorod? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
It's industrial and prosperous city in Central Russia, with high-level universities and rich cultural and historic heritage. I would recommend Nizhny Novgorod if you're looking for good exchange opportunities, but the people here ain't so friendly (in comparison to Barcelona, Lyon, Vienna). For sure you will enjoy the city with two different parts divided by the Oka river, diversity life and redtape issues :P
What is the student lifestyle like in Nizhniy Novgorod?
Actually, I ain't a partying student. I prefer to study hard instead of entertaining. Ask someone else.
How much does it cost to live in Nizhniy Novgorod?
Fully equipped flat = 10000-16000 RUR/month
Food (if you will cook it at home) = 6000-10000 RUR/month
Dinner at student's cafe = 90-150 RUR
Subway ticket = 16 RUR (mainly lower part of the city)
Bus ticket = 20 RUR
