Typical drinks from Cyprus

Speaking of food, drinks are also important.

In Cyprus there are two typical alcoholic drinks: Ouzo and Zivania.

Ouzo is of Greek origin and tastes very similar to Absinthe.

There are many different brands and prices, and also different alcoholic contents.

For it to be considered Ouzo, it can only be made in Greece or Cyprus.

It is generally cheap and very popular here.

Zivania is from Cyprus and is stronger than Ouzo.

There are all sorts of sizes, from very small bottles to large ones.

It's very old and very popular here, so it makes a good, typical present from the country.

Finally, among non-alcoholic drinks coffee is popular, above all frappé, which is very good here.
