Trip from Paris to Nice
From the amazing city Paris, we decided to discover another part of the country located in the extreme south of France which is the amazing city Nice, for this purpose we had the choice of travelling by bus or by the train ; finally we decided to to try the train high speed with a duration of six hours and a half to be able to discover the dififferent landscapes offered from the french capital to the south.
From my personal point of view Nice is a lively and dynamic city with many cultural and sporting events every year. this city is characterised by much crowded poeple and tourist coming from every part of the world , it moves at any time of the day and especially at night! The city is internationally renowned and poeple get easily seduced by its historical, cultural and architectural heritage. as a group of friends we really Loved its sweetness of life, walking early in the morning on the promenade des Anglais while it is still deserted and enjoy the first lights of the day. Our program of the day was full as we did not not to miss anything from this magical city as strolling through the streets, enjoying delicious ice creams, discovering the blue sea on the legendary sea side, tasting the local specialties, without forgetting to admire the most beautiful views of the city in the magical place called the Bay of Angels or Baie des Anges.
1- Promenade des Anglais
There is nothing more amazing than starting our stay with a beautiful morning walk on the Promenade des Anglais to reach the other part of the coast , a place a saw over and over again in internet but never thought to be actually inside the landscape , The streets were still deserted from poeple on our way we could have an amazing french breakfast on the terrace of a very famous cafe with a wonderful view on the sea side, poeple can really savor one of the famous blue chairs of the Promenade. On our way we could also meet many joggers, cyclists, families and seniors who come to enjoy this magical setting and do pictures with them. We also were able to admire the beautiful facades of the most luxurious hotels that have crossed the ages. We discovered by a good look to the facades of this long street that There is a famous hotel setteled in the first rank, the other hotels are also very imposing and decorate the view in very original way. This mythical promenade allows the best walk I ever had in my life along the Baie des Anges. it is really advisable to easily walk on the most interesting part on foot, between the hotel and the hill of the castle. But if the Promenade is very pleasant to admire and to walk around, it is not ideal for swimming at all, In fact, the beach is made of large pebbles and the bottom falls rather quickly, which makes it impractical and even dangerous, so we did not think in swimming in that area but the almost turquoise color of the water compensates for these small inconveniences that will not prevent poeple in the final from enjoying the mild temperatures of the Mediterranean sea but we must not forget also that There are also many private beaches for hotels, where it is not possible to enter only after paying an amount of money or be a resident of the hotel.
2- Russian Orthodox Cathedral
One of the most emblematic and splendid architecture we could admire was in the main cathedral located inside the city that can make our entourage believe that we had actually a short weekend in Russia and not in france, because this religious building contrasts with the Mediterranean landscapes and offers a totally different view from the french city. This Historic Monument very rich by it cultural heritage is the cathedral that is most important building of its kind localised outside of Russia. In other words, it's definitely worth to discover and to admire, and a guided tour is organized daily at 14:00. In the middle of the historic center is the Rossetti square, with the beautiful Cathedral the city offers another kind of style a more gothic style, like many churches in the region of Nice, we decided then after arriving by foot to the Rossetti square that, this part of the city is also the ideal place to take a break, even if it is very touristy and so much crowded with poeple wanting to do pictures everywhere. We could nevertheless enjoy a good ice cream and probably the most delicious ever before continuing our amazing trip through the colorful streets. For this, it is advisable to go in the shops near the sea as they offer an unmatched choice of delicious ice cream parfumes, at rather high prices. This does not prevent them from having an endless queue! But right in front, of the shops near the cathedral the ice cream is just as good, and less expensive.
3- Nice Port
Then during our adventure we went by a coastal road that then leaded to the other side of the city on the Villefranche sur Mer side. The panorama was terrific and exceptional and the setting inside such a landscape was one of the best experience to do and very relaxing to us. Down the road, after the multiple restaurants offered inside and we discovered a magical place where there are many rocks on which you we could put our towel for a nap and swim in the very clear and crystal clear water. such a swim was really so refreshing for us that visited for the first time this amamzing city. Then we continued our walk and throughout the roads, we could also discover beautiful hotels and buildings with the typical architecture of Nice. The mythical Hotels of the city are almost all hotels in the baie and represents a symbol of the Riviera and is home to a bunch of restaurants and many other famous ones, This is the perfect plan to taste refined dishes worthy of a palace but with a very reasonable addition! The cooks and the quality are the same, only the products, a little less noble, change. The dishes are delicious and the decor - an old carousel reconstituted will make you live an enchanting parenthesis (More info in the Practical Tips section) You can also have a drink in the evening on the rooftop of one of the hotels of the Promenade, the view is magnificent the prices also.
4. The Castle hill
At the end of the Promenade des Anglais, the castle hill overlooks the old town and the port. we could climb it up to the top of the stairs some other poeple prefered to climb by the elevator without any money thats is also located at the end of the Promenade des Anglais. Today, it is a beautiful wooded park, ideal for a stop or be just relaxed near the big and huge splendid waterfall. i think I could then enjoy one of my most favourite activities which was i could be relaxed in the grass and then we even did a picnic in nature and we took a nap in the shades of the trees in summer as It is a must because the hill offers incredible views of Nice, the Bay of Angels, and in the distance, the Alps! it is advised for you to go there in the morning, when the light illuminates the promenade of the English and the old town. we were so much amazed by the real festival of colors with the turquoise sea and the red roofs of old Nice! One of the most beautiful places in Nice in my eyes.
From the port, we choose to cross the Antiques district to reach Garibaldi Square. In the neighborhood, we found an amazing restaurant is an unpretentious address where poeple can really enjoy a delicious piece of socca that is represented as a cake made from chickpea flour and sweet.
A little further, we walked a bit until arriving to another very famous place in Nice all dressed in yellow. Its arched buildings arranged in square and recently renovated are magnificent. This is one of the few places in Europe to be decorated in very original way on its four facades! At the end of the walk, poeple arrive at Place Masséna. this place is characterised by its checkerboard floor and the red buildings that surround it and give it a lot of class. It is also the starting point of very famous Avenue which is the shopping street. this place is very famous also for its delicious ice creams or you have not yet passed place Rossetti, between Place Masséna and the Promenade des Anglais. Their ice creams are also delicious. And poeple can enjoy it directly near the sea side with the most beautiful view ever. Located on the heights of Nice, this district is full of treasures such as the archaeological site surrounded by olive trees that are so old and their ages dates back for multiple years! poeple can still see nowadays the beauty of its thermal baths and amphitheater. I think that poeple can also see them from the outside, but to see the baths more closely, they have to go back to the archaeological museum. And on the same hill, we could also visit the beautiful collections of another Museum, housed in an elegant red building, surrounded by olive trees. Just next door there is a very famous Monastery with its pretty gardens popular with Nice on Sunday. by the night arrival we went down to downtown where we could admire the old palaces and hotels in the maiin Avenue whose architecture is really a must see fo any one planning to visit the city even for a short weekend.
