29 year old professional, looking for accommodation in New York city

Just moved into New York a few months ago and looking for an affordable place to stay. Current place is costing me too much money. I am a 29 year old female professional. I have 3 Information Technology degrees and currently working as a contract Business Analyst at the World Trade Center. I am easy going and I rarely go out. I do enjoy being social, but it is ok if you stay to yourself. I prefer a furnished studio or similar, but a furnished room will work just fine.
