Really good, and healthy with cheap prices

Depends on your activities

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes but you need at least a beginners level

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Nagoya from your city?

Anywhere is good but Moto would be the best choice

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The Nagoya castle, Tokugawa garden, and art museum along with the science museum. The zoo and the aquarium are also nice.
