What is it like to live in Murcia? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
A small city, always warm weather, great party places and food and incredible people.
What is the student lifestyle like in Murcia?
The city centre is small so the party is concentrated in that area or in the discos at the outskirts, life is cheap and comfortable, with not too difficult exams and good environment.
How much does it cost to live in Murcia?
Round 250 €/month plus rent.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Murcia? Is there any advice you can give?
Student dormitories are very well located and appartments are cheap.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
You have either traditional Spanish food with local variants (migas, paparajote, zarangollo) and all fast food or traditional restaurants. Best kebab in Spain.
What places would you recommend visiting in Murcia?
The cathedral is stunning for such a small city, monastery of Fuensanta is lovely and the surrounding mountains offer a great deal of choices in the nature. Also, go to the beach!
Is it good to eat out in Murcia? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Fraskito, Piquillo, Cafebar, as well as other food chains.
Is the nightlife good in Murcia? Where is good to go?
It is great. There are three main options: in the main centre, "las tascas" is an area full of different themed bars, some for dancing, others with rock music, or just to have some beers. Always full of young people. Then at the outskirts Atalayas area is full of discos and Mariano Rojas is for those who prefer a more undergroung environment.
What advice would you give future students heading to Murcia?
Enjoy, meet local people, see the surrounding towns and nature.
