Why did you choose to go to Murcia, Spain?

I already had some information about the city and the university.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I was there for one year. I received something like 1000 euro in total.

What is the student lifestyle like in Murcia?

Wonderful! There's always something interesting to do, parties, places to visit, library always open to study in (at night too! ) and know other students (foreign or Spanish).

Would you recommend the city and the University of Murcia to other students?

Totally!

What is the food like?

Really, really good and cheap! You should try some taperías such as Madre de Dios, Café del Arco, las taperías near plaza de la Merced, Estrella Levante beer and montaditos at Kiosko, in front of La Merced, tigres in La Mejilloneria in front of the Cathedral, hot chocolate and churros from Valor café, a beer in Plaza de las Flores and a thousand of other things!

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Murcia?

No, I found it on Erasmusu two months before leaving.

How much does it cost to live in Murcia?

Almost 400 - 500 € a month, room-rent and taxes included (with internet and phone too)

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

It's really easy and anyway university organises courses twice a year (September and January)

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Murcia from your city?

With Ryanair from Bari to Valencia and then by bus, with Alsa.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Murcia?

If you like disco and dancing to Badulake. it's not my genre but there go all Erasmus students and not just them! The other (that I loved and where you have to try sangría) is Revolver, behind la Merced.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Murcia?

All taperías near la Merced (good and cheap), in front of the Cathedral (good but a bit more expensive) and taperías in Plaza de las Flores, like Madre de Dios (really good and cheap)

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Fuensanta Sanctuary, the Cathedral, Segura river and the walk along it, some other churches.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Murcia in the future?

¡Disfrutad!
