How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I received about 205 euros per month, but it was not sufficient. My parents helped me.

What is the student lifestyle like in Murcia?

In Murcia there are a lot of attractions for students include erasmus students. Almost every day you can go to some clubs or some tapas bar. There are people laughing and talking everywhere in every hour of the day. There are a lot of spanish celebrations according to some important days ect. You will not miss any big event, because everybody talks about it and whole city celebrate it.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Murcia to other students?

The city is very nice, especially area where located is cathedral. A lot of spanish people say that Murcia and region of Murcia is poor and ugly in comparison of the rest of the country, but is not true. The true is that, if you go to other place like Valencia or Sevilla that are nicer, the differences are not extreme. Murcia offers a lot of pure and special spanish culture which you will not see so much in other regions.

The university is great. There is a big campus with a lot of attractions like s very cheap swimming pool for students, bike to rent or some snack bars where you can buy delicious spanish food.

The classes were relatively interesting, but it was hard to understand professors with their murcian accent. There were english classes as well, but only few professors knew english fluently. The university is located in a very nice and modern area.

What is the food like?

The food is amazing. It is a paradise for people who love seafood and tapas. Everything is fresh and well prepared. You can also discover new dishes.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Murcia?

No, it's very easy. You can find all the announcements in the main student campus in the city centre. You do not need to look for accommodations earlier. For exapmle I used CouchSurfing for my first nights and then I found a flat.

How much does it cost to live in Murcia?

South of Spain is relatively cheap. The minimum budget you have to consider is about 450 euros.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

It's hard to understand people from Murcia (for people who doesn't know language is extremely hard). But the university offers Spanish course (duration: two weeks) per every semester (for each new erasmus student). You can also go to a payable Spanish course which is very good. I've learned a lot. The cost of that course was about 120 euros per semester.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Murcia from your city?

Airplane of course.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Murcia?

The most known place for Erasmus people is Badulake- disco especially for Erasmus or a club called Music which is located in Plaza de Toros. You can also just go to the park and for sure you will have a lot of fun with your friends. Poeple in Murcia have fun everywhere.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Murcia?

Every spanish bar in Murcia has delicious food. It is not possible to go to the wrong place.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

There are a lot of monuments and beautiful nature. The most important is that people here create amazing culture by a lot of events and celebrations etc.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Murcia in the future?

If you prefer more ambitious Erasmus I recommend you to go for less known country. But if you want a lot of party, spend time on the beach, Murcia is perfect place to you. The big plus is that you can learn most of the popular languages in the world.
