Should I find places before I go or should I just rent an airbnb for a month and then walk around and look for apartments/rooms for rent?

There's a lot of apartments available near "La Merced" campus, the range of prices would go from 100 up to 180€. It's not difficult to find accomodation, so it's definitely up to you. I personally prefer to have some references before, just to ensure I will have enough options to choose!

Also, prices might be a bit higher around that specific location just because the proximity of the University and downtown, so if you choose any other zone because of this fact, I recommend you to look up for bus lines between your apartment and city centre/ campus la Merced (public transport is quite good here in my opinion.)

Hi Javier, thank you for your prompt responses. My main issue is that there are very few accommodations available online either on erasmusu or be roomers, and I want to make sure that if I'm staying for a longer period than 4 months, it's a place that I will be happy with. That's great! If I dont get into apartomentos campus murcia, that might be what I will do! Toronto has an under 1% vacancy rate, so renting an airbnb and then going to look for an apartment in a one month time frame is a little tight, but glad to here it's easier in Murcia! Do most people just walk around and keep an eye out of places for rent or do things like craigslist exist and I just haven't found it yet?

I'm not going to university of murcia, but instead going to UCAM, so I will be commuting there, which is alright. Here in Toronto, Canada, I'm used to 1+ hour of commute one way to get anywhere, so I'm a bit used to commuting.

I've found a couple of sources that might be useful for your search:

I have to admit that I considered the prices lower than showed in these sites... The first one is basically offering rooms from Murcia and adjacent towns (Cabezo de Torres, for example) The second one is a tool provided by the UCAM to search for specific accomodation anywhere you want in the Region.

I highly recommend you to choose an apartment rather close to "Ronda Norte", or anywhere listed here really (https://www.ucam.edu/sites/default/files/servicios/horariook.pdf) because it's near downtown, and has direct conection with the UCAM by bus. You could also choose any zone near a tram line, because it branches towards UCAM in the end.

Last, there's also a lot of rooms announced in the notice board of University of Murcia, I'm quite sure that also at UCAM's, so if you want to go there and check them for yourself, it's another option. You're welcome!
