Izmaylovo

Are you currently in Moscow? Are you bored by the Red Square, Fifa World Cup and and all the crowd occupying the city? Why don’t you try something different?

Hop on the metro, get off at Partizanskaya station and visit Izmaylovo. I will not bore you to with history and this kind of details, you can google that yourself, I will just limit myself on saying that this sort of market place is one of the most picturesque places I have seen in Moscow. There is something for everyone. Vodka museum for instance. Quite tiny, but very interesting place.

In case you need to stock up on the souvenirs, this is the right place as well. Numerous stalls with all sorts and models of matrioshka dolls where you can try your bargaining skills, rather than spending a fortune on turistic spots.

I observed some great items from military times as well. Guns, bullets, helmets, knives, take your pick if you are passionate about collecting that stuff.

The whole tour should take around 2hrs, depending on how much time you spend at each stall.
