To live in Mombasa town is an opportunity you cannot afford to miss. It is hot sometimes but very peaceful and lovely. The residents are friendly and the city is big enough to accommodate guests from all walks of life.
What is the student lifestyle like in Mombasa?
Students at the college and university level have freedom to move about in the city of Mombasa to carry out their activities since they are grown up and know what is right for them.
How much does it cost to live in Mombasa?
It is not very costly but at least if you have like $1,500 per month, will secure a fully furnished apartments for long and short term excluding other personal expenses.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Mombasa? Is there any advice you can give?
It is not difficult to find accomodation in Mombasa since there are many hotels and beach hotels where guests can be accommodated and services rendered to them accordingly.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Swahili dishes are mostly served here since it is dominated by Swahili Culture people. Though other foods can be provided upon placing an order too.
What places would you recommend visiting in Mombasa?
When visiting Mombasa remember to visit the Historical Fort Jesus, North Coast - Malindi and Lamu, South Coast - Wasini & Chale Island and the Main Inland - Tsavo National Parks.
Is it good to eat out in Mombasa? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Yes it is good to eat out in Mombasa most likely at the Beach hotels where most of them have exotic scenery to admire.
Is the nightlife good in Mombasa? Where is good to go?
Nightlife is good in Mombasa as you can visit such places like Mama Ngina Drive, Mombasa Village/Mamba and carnivals. This is just a few to mention.
What advice would you give future students heading to Mombasa?
They need to be alert and careful as they interact and deal with the residents of Mombasa in one way or another and demand an identity card from Tour Guiders or operators.
