The Mall of America is the biggest shopping center in the USA!
When I got there and saw it from the outside, I did not feel really impressed, not to say I even felt a bit underwhelmed, because it did not look big, to my mind. I mean it seemed to cover quite a huge area but was not very high, smaller than other shopping centers that I have been to.
But this illusion only lasted until I set foot inside the gigantic place. Indeed, hundreds and hundreds of shops and restaurants lined up on various floors. I'm telling you, if you are a shopaholic you'll be over the moon.
What is also really enjoyable about this place is that you get the chance to do other things when you are tired of shopping. Indeed, the mall of America includes an aquarium (whose mascot is named Sharky), a miniature golf and also, as incredible as it can sound, an amusement park! When I have been to the Mall of America, we spent 3 entire days there and we never got bored because we have done all three activities as well as shopping. It was very fun!
Playing mini golf ahah
Here are a few places that particularly struck me in this amazing place :
The Rainforest Cafe
Regarding this particular place, the name was well chosen since the decoration matches it perfectly. Indeed, the roof is covered in leaves and flowers typical of the Rainforest, there are fake wild animals all over the place and I think I can remember, if I'm not mistaken, there was a small waterfall on one of the walls and a music mimicking the sounds of the forest. This place is really cool, it's as if you had been travelling very far away without even going out of the mall.
The Aquarium
It is located at the bottom of the mall and is quite huge. You have painted settings with sharks just for you to make pictures that look real lol. And there is quite a good deal of various fish species.
The Legoland universe
In this place, you could buy most of the toys created by Lego. But what amazed me was, apart from the size of this « universe », the huge constructions they had made with Lego products : gigantic dinosaurs, an enormous clock, huge planes, human-sized warriors, a giant building site, and other impressive realistic creations.
The Nickelodeon Universe (amusement park)
I think this is the thing that most amazed me in this gigantic place, since it was the first time I had heard that an amusement park was actuallyinsidea building, be it as big as the Mall of America. And since then I have not heard of such a thing anywhere else. There were quite a lot of different attractions, among which a very cool rollercoaster.
The Lindt chocolate shop
Dozens and dozens of various chocolates covering the walls. A paradise for greedy chocoholics!
There are also plenty of restaurants and fast foods, in case you wish to eat there. I had a totally FABULOUS hamburger with fries (vinegar fries, of course, which I must admit taste a bit weird to some untrained eater). The only thing is I can't remember the exact name of the restaurant (I think it had the word « cities » in it but when I looked for it on the internet I did not find any such thing, sorry ='(. ) But I'm sure you'll find tones of other really decent places to eat on you own .
