What is it like to live in Milano? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Milano is a business city, or better, is THE italian business city. This has many implication for you as student. Is not a city designed for students, it's busy and very expensive compared to other italian city. People is always hurry, and can be unpolite.
Anyway, is the city of opportunities, there are infinite things to do and to see, and there is a remarkable quantity of foreign people. My advice about Milan? GO, but, be careful when decide the flat (rents change due to the zone), meet as many people as you can because is hard to find a Milanese dude, most are people working there or studying there like you.

What is the student lifestyle like in Milano?

In Milan there are great universities, indeed they can be a bit hard and competition-oriented. Anyway most of them are a good point to see in your curriculum. In Milan, less than other cities, you can find home-party, but the most of the enterteinment is in clubs.. and they can result expensive (get drunk before to go in ;) ). Ah remember, in a lot of places a well dress (shirt and good shoes) can be required, indeed remember to check if there is a dress code before to go, or you will spend the night talking to the bouncers!

How much does it cost to live in Milano?

A lot. It depend where to go and what to do, I'll try to give you some examples:
dinner at restaurant: from 15€ to one billion.
club entry: from 15€ to 30€ , a drink inside about 10 €.
rent for 1 month in a single room (centre): from 500 € to 650€ (shared room from 300€)
metro-bus-tram one way ticket 1,50€

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Milano? Is there any advice you can give?

NO, Is not difficult. is expensive. In Milan there are always so many people coming and leaving that there is always a big offer of accomodation. The point is that a shared room (not flat, room!) costs more or less the double compared to Bologna for example.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is high quality food. Indeed is good, you can find any kind of dishes.
Typical dish from Milan is Cotoletta, try it!

What places would you recommend visiting in Milano?

all the centre is beatifull.
Hang uot in colonne and then move on a pub or a disco.
Of course duomo, parco sempione... etc etc. But remember this, Milan is incredibly well connected with other italian cities, visit visit visit. And book the train in advice, you can find very cheap fares!

Is it good to eat out in Milano? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

I like taverna toscana, but there are so many different places... find out by yourself! :)

Is the nightlife good in Milano? Where is good to go?
