What is it like to live in Milan? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Milan is a city full of different experiences available to students on a consistant daily basis. There is always something happening in this city. There is fashion week, ocelebration of la carnivale, filming of movies, and continious interaction with different people. The Italian people are friendly and the women are lovely.

What is the student lifestyle like in Milan?

A student's lifestyle is fast paced and constantly entertaining. Given Milan is centralized and such a large city, there are trains that can take you practically anywhere outside the city that you wish to go.

How much does it cost to live in Milan?

Milano is slightly expensive. And obviously the amount it costs depends on how much a person goes out on a weekly basis.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Milan? Is there any advice you can give?

There are places available. A large majority are shared flats. Check the area out first before you commit to a flat.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is great all over Italy, including Milan. Personally I like simple foods such as Panini and pizza. Specifically pizza from a paneteria.

What places would you recommend visiting in Milan?

Duomo, Il Castello, La scala, the list is too long to continue. Just get a map and walk.

Milan is full of good places to eat. Just walk around and find something. A restaurant called Carlsberg is a great to take a date. Drink one of their Carlsberg beers and relax and enjoy the company.

Is the nightlife good in Milan? Where is good to go?

The nightlife is excellent. During the exam period the clubs are less in people, but during other times they are bouncing and constantly entertaining. Its an opportunity to meet many people. My personal favorite is Old Fashion. But places just to hang out include Collogne and Naviglie.

What advice would you give future students heading to Milan?

Be prepared not to see the sun for sometimes long period of time during the fall, winter, and early spring. Other than that, enjoy your time. There are many other exchange students living in Milan and many restaurants and pubs that have nights devoted especially to them. Find them and enjoy.
