What is it like to live in Milan? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I think that i is quite a different experience that the small city i come from. Everything is much more centerest and diverse. Being the center or fashion and modern arts, it is easier fo me to express myself and get inspire. I am surrounded by people of different backgrounds , thus i get different perpectives on a lot of things.

What is the student lifestyle like in Milan?

The student life is pretty good as i am in teh city that is all about what i study. No matter what aspect of my studies, the city always aids. The university is quite and upgrade from my highschool so everything is much easier.

How much does it cost to live in Milan?

The costs, i would say, are similar to the ones in Sarajevo. In that aspect there is not much change. On the other hand, with a bigger variaty of things offered, the price range can sometimes change quite drastically, like in high-end fashion stores.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Milan? Is there any advice you can give?

I found that to be most difficult in the process. It took me about 4 months to find adequate accomodation. It was, in particular, difficult to find reasonably priced places that offer stay to only girls. I believe that is not such a big deal in Italy. I wouls say the best advice would be not to go in expectinf everything. One should set one or two main things to look for in the accomodation that can make the place ideal. For me it was a personal bathroom close proximity to the university. With this a lot of different offers came up.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

In a city like Milan, there is a diversity of foods to choose from, one that I haven't tried yet. From Italian food, a expected, pasta is the main dish I like but i have found, because Milan is an international city, I have a great opportunity to try food from different countries. I was quite excited to try Korean food like barbecue and Japanese foof and other international foods that were not an option for me in Bosnia.

What places would you recommend visiting in Milan?

I, myself, have not be looking around too much,as I need to fi nd time for that, but I am quite impressed with all the cathedrals and the museums. Even when im done simply walking to somewhere there is always something that I pass thst catches my eye. The city is filled with beautiful, historical sights that are now just a part of the city.

Is it good to eat out in Milan? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

As I have mentioned, Koreans was the food iI really wanted to try, as it was quite different so there is one place, Hana korean restaurant, that I keep coming back to. Also Spontini pizeria for actual Italian food (pizza).

Is the nightlife good in Milan? Where is good to go?

Compared to the nightlife of Sarajevo, it quite for free and more connected to clubs and dancing. It was quite different to what I am used to so changing from bars and shisha lounges to actual clubs was nice. One thing i would say, people are quite more free-spirited in opened to taking risks, which I still find it little bit intimidating.

What advice would you give future students heading to Milan?

If they ar coming from big capital cities, the change wouldn't be drastic, but id it is someone like me, I would say it is always best to find friends that hav lived there but understand your situation as students should take the transition easy. One should take time to gradually adapt.
