What is it like to live in Milan? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Milan is a great city, comfortable, modern and with excellent transportation.

Places to see: Duomo, Castello Sforzesco, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, Teatro Alla Scala, Via Montenapoleone, Lake Como etc.

The city is fantastic, easy to walk and get around and close to the main cities in Italy by fast train or airplane.

What is the student lifestyle like in Milan?

Lots to do: aperitivos is the local thing, meeting up after 18/19 hrs for a drink and some food in lovely locations around the city, lots of weekend excursions to enjoy other places as well, restaurants, bars, and discos.

How much does it cost to live in Milan?

Eating is not expensive, neither is transportation. You can eat a lovely 2-course meal with a drink for €10-12.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Milan? Is there any advice you can give?

Plenty of shared rooms, a little more difficult to find small studio apartments but lately they have increased.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is amazing as it is in all Italy... Where can you eat better?... Really...

Pasta (any type, sauce, etc. ) risotto, cheese, fish, ice cream, coffee... everything is great!

What places would you recommend visiting in Milan?

The ones I mentioned before and small weekends to Lake Como, Liguria are a must.

Is it good to eat out in Milan? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

It's very good. Plenty really of places... It's impossible to mention just a few... You have to be really unlucky to have a bad meal in Milan.

Is the nightlife good in Milan? Where is good to go?

Biblos is a great disco and Navigli is full of bars and restaurants and night life.

What advice would you give future students heading to Milan?

Explore Milan walking it, have a coffee everywhere you can, enjoy the local life not being a tourist but part of the city. Try to learn a little Italian. It will help get you around, although most people speak English. And bring your spirit of adventure... Italy can surprise you at every corner!
