What is it like to live in Milan? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Many tourists, amazing architecture. People are nice and usually are trying to help you. There are some difficulties with the language, because most of the people cannot speak English. But don't worry, you will use to their language and you will start understanding them very soon. People here are interesting - noisy and passionate. They are usually smiled, friendly and warm. If we exclude that everything is in Italian, the city is amazing. There are many things to see, many shops, green areas. The transport in Milan is perfect! Even if you are far away from the center, there are 4 lines of the metro and you can get to the center within 20-30 min even if you are not close to the center (For example I am a few km outside Milan, I travel 10 km to my university and it takes the metro 30 min to take me there). I will recommend the place, it is very nice!

How much does it cost to live in Milan?

The house/accommodation is pretty expensive in here. Usually the cheapest place you can find is around 300 - 350 euro for a shared room (so 1 bed) with the bills excluded. Anyway, the food is not expensive, especially if you go to the big markets. Also there are good discounts for everything (technologies, clothes, etc.). If you want to go out for a drink there are usually aperativo's. You take drink and they bring you also food. There are expensive places and cheap places. It is up to you. :)

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Milan? Is there any advice you can give?

I couldn't find accommodation, so I cannot say much. If you want an accommodation I strongly recommend you to follow the deadlines and to look very carefully at your university webpage! Here everything is made online and there is all the info you need in their websites! So take a careful look there and follow the instructions and the deadlines for accommodation, scholarship, etc.
