Why did you choose to go to Milan, Italy?

I learned Italian as a second language in school, and I wanted to further develop my language of it and Italian culture!

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

250 € per month during 10 months.

What is the student lifestyle like in Milan?

Great, so much to do, and the ESN here is amazing.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Milan to other students?

Yes, especially if you like a lot of theory work with less continuous assessment, this is the particular case for my mechanical engineering course.

What is the food like?

Unreal.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Milan?

No.

How much does it cost to live in Milan?

450€-600€ per month for rent is standard and then 400€-450€ for living costs.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes, but I hear they aren't great - I learn by a Skype language exchange. Also, tandem is available.

What's the easiest or most economical way of transport in Milan?

Metro, also cycling.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Milan?

Navigli for aperitivo, fabrique, plastic, tunnel, and Alcatraz.

Find them yourself; nothing has let me down.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

TripAdvisor has too many to list.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Milan in the future?

Don't compromise with accommodation, being near a metro is everything.
