Erasmus Experience in Milano, Italy by Cansu

Why did you choose to go to Milan, Italy?

Milano is the well known city for education of design. So i decided to go there.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

5 and a half moth long i stayed and scholarship, 480 Euro per month.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Milan to other students?

I recommend this city and Technical University of Milano. Great school and kind people.

What is the food like?

As a turkish person, i like italian food, they are delightful and healthy. If you go to Milano, try Panzerotti immidiately!!

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Milan?

I found a place when i was in Turkey. Not much actually.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

As a turkish person, italian is not very easy and very complicated. But not impossible. Politecnico di Milano has available and free italian courses. Great opportunity!

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Milan from your city?

Pegasus Airlines is the cheapest airway in Turkey. They have planes everyday from Istanbul to Bergamo Orio al Serio airport. By shuttle buses or train, you can arrive to centre of Milano in 40 minutes.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Milan in the future?

If you go to Politecnico di Milano and if you are a turkish person, find a place to stay near the city centre. So you can go everywhere and you can see everything. I made my biggest mistake and i stayed near the campus in Bovisa. It was far away from the centre of the city and that was a problem for me.
