Erasmus experience in Milan, Luna's Italy.
Why did you choose to go to Milan?
For the language similarity, which is really helpful for me. Also, I like big and cosmopolitan cities, they always have a lot going on and you never have time to be bored.
How long was the scholarship? How much did you receive to help with living costs?
My scholarship is as long as I want it, but I don't receive more than 1500€.
What is the student atmosphere like in Milan?
Incredible, I've noticed a lot of people choose this place to study, almost always for the gigantic and mixed diversity University.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Milan to other students?
Yes, without doubt.
What is the food like?
Please, Italian food = 10
Was it difficult to find accommodation in Milan?
I trusted myself to to be the one in charge of public residences in Milan, and I believe that is the best thing I could have done.
How much does it cost to live in Milan?
The residence cost 300€ a month, and in between travel, trips, shopping and food I live with about 600-700€ a month.
How is the language? Did you go to any courses at the University?
The language isn't very complicated if you know Spanish, some teachers even let you take your exam in Spanish if you don't speak very quickly. The University does an initial exam and you are put into a class based on your level (usually all the Spanish are together in A1).
What is the cheapest way to get to Milan from your city?
Plane, with Ryanair I spend between 20-25€ depending on how long it takes (of course, with time).
What places would you recommend to go out in Milan?
There are so many clubs, almost always one for one every day of the week, and also the ESN which collaborates with the University and also organises parties. The most popular clubs are Alcatraz, Le Banque, Hollywood...
And where to eat in Milan? Can you tell us your favourite places?
I always went out for Sushi.
Any advice that you want to give for future students in Milan?
