Japanese/Asian cuisine in Milan

I am a big fan of sushi rolls, especially with prawns or salmon! So I definitely had to do my research on the best go-to sushi restaurant in Milan when I moved here a few months ago to study. After checking ratings online and consulting a few friends who were here studying last year, I decided to go check out Temakinho near the Duomo Cathedral.

What impressed me first was the ambience and the decor. I love everything pastel, and the restaurant is all about it! Decked up in pretty pinks and greens and blues, with natural looking wicker completing the modern Instagrammable cafe look, Temakinho has a really inviting interior! The first time I went (of course I have gone a couple of times now), I sat in their domed outdoor seating. It's a little crowded and the service is slightly later than expected, but good nonetheless. I recommend sitting inside though! The basement has the restaurant seating, while the ground floor (where the entrance is) has more of a bar-cafe seating. 

Temakinho has quite an extensive menu, which is Japanese in nature but infused with a fusion of Brazilian touches (I was all for it!) They have a really good menu for rolls and temakis, offering a lot of options. Apart from that, they offer ceviches, (which is a cold seafood dish, typically made from fresh raw fish cured in citrus juices, and spiced with peppers and other seasonings), some good starter options, and some other mains dishes that mostly revolve around salmon and seafood. There are also some vegeterian options, though that menu is quite less.

I ordered the Camarao Empanado and Salmao Empanado, both sushi rolls (with prawn tempura and Salmon respectively). Along with I ordered Camarao Baianinho, a fried prawn dish. For drinks I tried the Ananas and Papaya fruit mocktail, as well as my staple cappuccino. I absolutely loved the sushi rolls, which were topped with spicy mayonnaise and sesame seeds. The fried prawns were good, though a little too oily (I only ordered them my first time). The fruit mocktail was interesting - a little different for my tastes, but good nonetheless! The next time I had tried a ceviche as well, which was nice but definitely a little weird for my taste (I'm from India, hence the different tastes). 

I have visited Temakinho both for ambience and sushi rolls a couple times now, and I do recommend it to anyone who asks. I am yet to try sushi roll places located towards the Southern side of Milan, near the Navigli and Darsena area, but till now this is one of the best Japanese food I have tasted in Milan!
