I went to the CityLife Park today to enjoy the sunshine after this cold winter and I felt like writing a small post about this it to let you know more about this place and show you some pictures. It’s a pretty new and very nice and green place in Milan, a little outside of the center of the city (but you can take the metro line M5 (the purple one) to get there, the stop is Tre Torri).
Today was a sunny (although quite windy) day, and so I decided to go outside and  have a walk in Milan. It didn't take me a lot of time to decide on going to the CityLife area as it's a nice place to enjoy the sunshine. It is quite close to where I leave so I could even go there walking and that felt great. When I arrived there, I noticed that a lot of other people had had the same idea as me, even though the park was really not overcrowded since it is quite big. There were a lot of us trying to make the most out of these first rays of sunshine.

The CityLife Park has three main different parts. The first one is the park itself, the "gardens". Very big and very green, it’s a really nice place to have a walk under the sun. There’s grass everywhere and you can also find some benches to have a break, a nap or read a book for example. There is also an area for kids to play. The park is really green and it feels great to have such a place in a city as big as Milan where you can enjoy some nature and relax with no cars around. It's like getting out of the city for one day or so.

This park is also sometimes called “Piazza Tre Torri”, meaning the "Three Towers square", because of the two (soon-to-be three) impressively high towers that were build there. The most impressive one is the Torre Hadid, "The twisted one", which is 175 meters high. It has an amazing curvy design. The other very high tower, located right next to this one is the Allianz Tower, also called Torre Isozaki (209 meters high), or "The straight one". Only these two towers are visible for now. The third one, Torre Libeskind ("The curved one") is still in construction. These three towers were named after the three architect responsible for their construction: Zaha Hadid, Arata Isozaki and David Libeskind.

Another part of the park is the CityLife Shopping District. As you can tell from the name, there is a shopping center, located right in the middle of the park. The whole first floor of this center is dedicated to food and restaurants, and you will find the clothes, shoes and lifestyle stores on the underground floor. The shopping center opened for the first time on November 30th, 2017 so not all the spaces are occupied yet, more shops will open in the next few months.

The last part that composes the CityLife area is the accommodation buildings. Once again, I think they have an amazing, modern and original design that is quite different from any of the other buildings that you can find in Milan. There are alleys so you can walk in between them.

Through this post I just wanted to say that the CityLife area is a very nice place to spend an afternoon and enables you to see another side of Milan, more modern than the traditional one. I would definitely recommend going there if you stay in Milan for a few days and have a spare morning or afternoon, so you can take some time to relax and feel a little out of the city!
