Christmas markets in Italy

Christmas markets are very popular in the European countries. In Italy, you can find small Christmas markets in each city. Among them, my heart goes to the one in Merano, Bolzano.

Christmas market in Merano

Merano is a beautiful city situated in the north part of Italy. It's very beautiful in both Summer and Winter. During the winter season, there is a beautiful Christmas market along the river side. This river side is one of the best places for me to have a morning walk with my loved one.

In these Christmas market, you can buy lot of unique handmade Christmas decorations and you can also have different types of foods and hot drinks. This market can get very crowded, especially at night.

If you go in Winter, then you can enjoy the spa in Merino which is huge and offers an atmosphere of Summer in the middle of Winter. You can swim and play in the water in these spa without noticing that it is actually Winter. I spent three days there and enjoy last year's Christmas Day and had a nice time in the spa. I could find a B&B for a reasonable price.

Though I expected snow on Christmas Day, there was no snow. But it was beautiful nevertheless with all the Christmas decorations and lights.

Christmas market in Bolzano

Bolzano is in the north part of Italy and there is also a huge Christmas market there. There you can find typical Italian food and beverages. This Christmas market is very elegant and has lots of decorations and lights. There you can purchase lot of Christmas decorations and handmade household items such as mugs or table cloths with Christmas designs.

When I went there last year it didn't snow, but it was very cold, which gave me the perfect feeling of Christmas. This market will be there even after the Christmas until New Year's Day.

I guarantee you that if you go there you will have an unforgettable Christmas since it's the perfect place for a family or couple as well as for a group to spend their holidays.
