Melbourne Must Do | Brighton Beach Houses
If you’re ever in Melbourne and it’s not raining, you must do your very best to head over to see the picturesque “Brighton Bathing Boxes”. For a city known for its architecture and design, you would be surprise that the mentality stretches as far as its beach and waters!
You should definitely plan out your trip in terms of transportation before heading there. Make sure you check the weather as well, since the place will require a decent distance of walking on the beach itself.
It's best to actually show what they’re like rather than to explain them in details. But what they are, from my experience, are wooden, small-sized mini houses - like a bungalow - for their owners to store gears and whatnot for the summer period. I'm not sure what they’re for actually, but that’s not the whole point. Each one of them is painted differently, illustrating all types of awesomeness. A few were monotone, some with a combination of colors, and others with actual drawings and illustrations. I would actually want to know what it takes to own one of these bad boys.
If you do start from what is the furthest side, you will be able to catch the view of Melbourne city in the backdrop, right behind the sand, the sea, and the colourful line of boxes.
There isn't a whole lot of cafés or places to eat nearby, as you'll have to walk towards one of the biggest train stations. However, the walk and the experience themselves are much deserved of a portion of your Melbourne trip!
