Marrakech is the historical city of Morocco. It is known for being rich in both historical and modern charms, it has also one of the best "night activities" in Morocco, parties, night clubs etc. It has the biggest old Medina in Aarab countries where you will feel like you have entered another time...

If you live in the old medina, you'll have traditional shops, fruit and vegetable markets and restaurants around you. At the day the city is very sereine and relaxed, but at night it becomes more dynamic.

How much does it cost to live in Marrakesh?

Marrakech is a tricky city, it depends on the places and the shop you go to. It is a city for the poor and the rich. You can eat with just 2 euros in a traditional restaurant or you can eat the same dish at 10 euro in a fancy one. Don't be scared to try traditional restaurant they are cheap, clean and extremely delicious.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Marrakesh? Is there any advice you can give?

There are a lot of hostels, for travellers and young people, but when it comes to an appartement rent or a room rent, there isn't a website for that, better to ask an agency to help you. The rent can go from 100 euro up to 500 euro, depending on the area.

THE FOOD IS AMAZING. Moroccans are in love with their traditional food, tourists as well. If you come to Marrakech you should definitely try the city special dish called tanjia, it is only made in Marrakech.

The best thing about Morocco is that it's multicultural, the tea you'll drink in Marrakech won't be the same one you drink in Casablanca or other city, you will always have different flavors.

What places would you recommend visiting in Marrakesh?

Source

I would recommend to visit the traditional places, and palaces at first, they are breathtaking : Palace Bahia and Palace Badia. Next I would recommend you the perfect place for instagram photos which is one of the oldest schools in Morocco : Ben Youssef. Finally I would recommend you to walk and get lost in the old Medina.

Is it good to eat out in Marrakesh? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, it definitely is, especially in the old medina. If you find a crowded small restaurant or shop, then it must be very good.

Is the nightlife good in Marrakesh? Where is good to go?

The night life is great, you have incredible places to party or just relax. I especially like jazz places, there is the big casino of Marrakech, it has this small bar called L'épicurien.

What advice would you give future students heading to Marrakesh?

Marrakesh is an enchanting city, rent a bike or walk it streets, you will be amazed of how the city have managed to mix its historical sites with the modern ones. Its habitants are known to be incredibly welcoming and funny! Make friends, learn the language and have fun.
