In Beijing there are many things to do, but more accessible, and more must visit is the Forbidden City, and is located in the heart of the city.

It was built in the fifteenth century, and has been for many years the residence of the Emperor of China, and is very large, with more than 700000 m2, so imagine the time you need to visit, virtually the whole day if you see everything, and more if it in detail.

To enter you need to pay a ticket that costs about 5 €, but then there are certain buildings and museums to visit you have to pay extra.

It is advisable to see with a tour, but if you are someone who cannot bear to follow the group, you can purchase an audio guide available in all languages??, and go at your own pace.

Inside the Forbidden City are places to eat, buy drinks, ice cream, and souvenirs. Although I dont recommend eat at the restaurant inside.

A highly recommended thing is, if you've seen the Forbidden City, is going to Coal Hill, where you can have a view from height of the Forbidden City, you can also relax the busy day visiting the Forbidden City.

To go to the Forbidden city you can take a taxi (it is cheap, writing the chineese name before), but also by underground (which costs 0. 20 € each way).
