Cathedrals Beach
Playa das Catedrais, translated to Spanish its name is Playa de las Catedrales, placed in Lugo, north of Galicia. It receives this name, because their cliffs look like flying buttresses of Gothic cathedrals.
It is an amazing beach, in which you can contemplate cliffs whose beauty is beyond any other beach in Galicia. Some have more than 32 meters of heigh, modified by water and wind erosion.
The beach is called Aguas Santas and to enjoy it the most you should visit it when the tide is coming out, since you can see the cliffs and walk through them, observing the beauty created in this beach after many years of erosion.
It is one of the most visited ones and it was recognised in 2014 as the fourth best beach in Europe by the users of "Tripadvisor". It maintains the same exact beauty since the first day and possesses the award of the Blue Flag and the Q of touristic quality. Of course, with these natural monuments made of rocks, it is not recommended as a beach for sunbathing nor as a swimming area.
An unforgettable visit, which will take your breath away.
