I took the train to London for a December weekend

It was the middle of December 2010. I had a return train ticket to London from France. I went on the Channel Tunnel.

London was all white. Everything was covered in snow.

It snowed so much that we had to wait at the station for a good few hours on our way back home. The train was held up because of the snow.

Getting around

The underground is very useful for getting around town. Walking on foot is a pleasant way to get about too.

What is there to do?

London is known for its many shops. Many people go there just to do some shopping or make the most of the sales.

There are so many things you can do in London. You absolutely have to walk over Tower Bridge, take a trip down the Thames, take in the sights of Big Ben, take a ride on the London Eye ferris wheel, visit Madame Tussaud's museum, and have a bite to eat and a drink a typical pub.
