15 years- touristic discovery

At the age of fifteen, it was my first time going to London. As every respectful tourist, it was there in London where I visited the biggest monuments.

Let's go back TO five years, the first time when I went to an Anglophone country, my intention was not to visit it at all... It was to see a concert! Indeed, I went there to see One Direction (don't mock them, they were really cool when I was fifteen years old ahah! ) The concert was organised in the O2, which is one of the biggest concert halls in Europe! If you have some spare time, familiarise yourselves with "Climb O2" because this activity allows you to climb as a reminder on the concert hall! A quite impressive activity!

People live next to the Thames and they work on the other side using cable cars! (This one has been established during the Olympic games which were held in London a few years ago). The crossing is free of charge, so I wold advise you to stroll while waiting for your Climb 02 for example!

Once the concert terminated, I was not going to book for a return trip to the United Kingdom. I took advantage to visit the city in four days.

A small advice, if you wish to visit London for your first time, don't go on the double decker tourist bus! Firstly, they don't include the price and then, it only works every other time! You should rather take the bus number 12! This bus takes you around the centre, and since it stops at several bus stops, it is easy to admire the monuments! (Extra tip, once you are on the bus, sit on the front of the second floor, it's a promise, you will not regret the stroll! )

It's also very pleasing to walk on the queen's promenade on the edges of the Thames. After you go on the London Eye (very touristic, I know, but I promise you that the view is worth! ), you can have your lunch on the grass next to it.

Regarding the other most touristic activities, the changing of the guard is quite impressive. It takes place everyday at 11 o'clock in front of Buckingham Palace. It attracts a crowd of people everyday.

If you have a free district, it is very pleasing to let yourself stroll in the roads of Oxford Street (in winter, the decorations of Christmas are literally amazing! )

I know that not everyone likes museums, but the Tate as well as the British Museum are really magnificent monument. If the interior does not really interest you, have a look at the architecture while walking near those places!

I could talk hours and hours of this city, but I am scared that my content will be too heavy (and it must be said, you will end up being bored ahah). I will do more posts précising the places that I mostly advise you!

Have a good day!
