Why did you choose to go to Livingston, United States?
In first part, I went to Livingston, in Scotland.
I went to here because my tutor of practices decided this site for me, I'm not decided this site but was a good place
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I stayed in Scotland for 3 months aprox, I received about 1417£ but in my self country, I can take a help of State for travel out for Erasmus
What is the student lifestyle like in Livingston?
In general the people is very quiet, the rutine is go to school and then return to home or go to big comercial center, and finally you go to home because all shops close at 6pm, except markets and restaurant of fast food or similar
Would you recommend the city and the University of Livingston to other students?
Exactly I don't studied there, I explain better, I studied high agree that not is university, in my school in Gran Canaria, and then when I finish curse, I do my practices in Scotland for get a Title in Sociocultural and tourist animation
What is the food like?
I had surprise because normally the people buy fast food or pre-cooked food, but I had luck because I eat in a hotel of varied food when I go to hotel for working, and then when I return to rental house sometimes I ate indian food because the indian couple of there, theycooking and invite me
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Livingston?
Yes is very complicated but not imposible, for weeks I was searching and finally I take in the web 'livingroom'
How much does it cost to live in Livingston?
For 1 month only the rental house (one room with kitcken for use of all) I payed 500£, but in this city you can find differents and cheaps prices, for example other friend that come for Erasmus, he take a rental house for 300£ (one room and kitcken for all).
All depend the distance that you wil stay of site and the acommodations that you want have
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Not is very complicated but is some different, because not is the same accent of scottish people than english people, but if you have a good level of english is very probable that you haven't many problems
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Livingston from your city?
Any dude the Bus in general is cheap and good form of travel, but the bus have a big problem if you usually pay with coins or bills, because when you want pay you must pay with exactly money because the pilot cannot give you the change.
I recommend that you buy a bus card for internet, in the bus web, this form is the best you will can pay with a card o for your bus app of mobile phone
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Livingston?
Is difficult decide, because the big center close at 6pm, but you have other zone of comercial center where you have a cinema and sites for eat, for example Pizza Hub, Mc Donalds..
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Livingston?
Tony macaroni, Nando's, Wagamama but is some expensive, and then you have a lot of fasf food restaurants
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Really here you have many cultural sites, but for 4'50£ aprx you can go to Edinburgh what is the capital of Scotland where you can see many spectacular cultural sites, or you have the option for go to Glasgow a cosmopolitan city where you will can go to party
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Livingston in the future?
If I were you I will go to many sites for enjoy really of experience, beacuse if you are as the people of there, you are probably bored for long time, if you only go university to home.
