It's time to talk a bit about my experience as a student at Linköping University and to describe my master's degree and its subjects. I am a graduate in Tourism Management but I decided to change my career path and to enter in the political science world.

Therefore, I applied for different masters all over Europe (Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Russia...), I got accepted to several ones but I decided to go to Linköping because the subjects were more appealing.

I arrived in Linköping early enough to be able to go to the roll call, which is a compulsory class to sign up to the masters degree. I met different people the first day and we found out that all of us were coming from completely different places. Germany, Spain, France, Finland, Sweden, England, even Kosovo and Turkmenistan, or India, Iran, Canada, the States... I could continue for ages but I rather continue talking about the master's degree itself.

This master's degree in International and European Relations is a 2 years masters. The first year is full of compulsory subjects (4 per semester, 1 per month) and it's quite complete in the sense of good contents. Of course there is always something to improve. The second year of the masters is quite different. On the first semester, you can either stay in Linköping with some diplomacy subjects, go on erasmus or go for an internship. My choice has been the third one, I am going to an Institution in France to complete my 30 ECT credits for the internship. I consider these options as very good since this helps us acquire some more international experience or even job experiences. The last semester of the last year is dedicated to the master thesis.

You can see the organization of themaster's with the subjects here:

Subjects:
- 1st semester: Introduction to Advanced academic studies, International Relations Theory, the Economics and Politics of International Relations, International Law.
- 2nd semester: Contemporary European Institutions, International and European Security, Europe's Relations with the World,Research Design and Methods.
- 3rd semester: Diplomacy and Foreign Policy Analysis, International Organisation: Theory and Practice, International Governance and Civil Society, Contemporary Issues in International Governance / Erasmus / Internship.
- 4th semester: Master's thesis.

The balance of the first year in Linköping is that you learn a lot due to the educational system (self work, spare time for reading and completing the home exams or assignments...), but I also consider that sometimes we should have had some more classes in order to have everything more clear to face the examination.

I like the master's but I saw it very general and sometimes I felt I did not learn that much.

Something about the master's which I really appreciated was the teacher's relationship with students. This was very personal and the teachers were always willing to help. They take care of the students and make us see we need to work on our own in order to achieve or learn something.

Moreover, we had the opportunity to go on a trip to Brussels with Uni. We organized it all, the Uni gave us money for accommodation and we visited all the institutions that we could in Brussels. It was an amazing trip.

I anyone would be inetersted in this masters or has already applied, do not hesitate to contact me through erasmusu sending a message or commenting my posts. I will be very happy to answer.
