Cultural tip: what to do in Lisbon without spending much, as a student?

As a every good museology student, I visited a lot of museums in Lisbon. Of course, I still have a list of things to do before I go back home sweet home. But, I am gonna leave here some tips on Museums and Monuments to visit in Lisbon! Do you know others? Leave your tip in the comments!

Every day:

At the Berardo Collection Museum of Modern Art, the entrance is free. Exhibitions are open for public from Tuesdays until Sundays, from 10am to 7pm (last entrance at 6. 30pm).

First Sunday of the month:

Some museums and monuments in Lisbon have free entrance on the first Sunday of the month. There are some websites with more information, like Pumpkin. A Vida em Família. The free entrance museums I visited were:

  • Archeology National Museum
  • Azulejo National Museum
  • Coches National Museum
  • Monastery of Jerónimos
  • National Pantheon
  • Ajuda National Palace
  • Chiado National Museum of Modern Art
  • Navy National Museum

Friday nights:

On Friday nights, after 6pm, the entrance to the Eastern Museum is free!

Sunday afternoons:

On Sundays, after 2pm, the entrance to the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum is free, for the Founder and the Modern Art Collections.

Student discounts:

The entrance to the Museu do Aljube is free with your student card.

Any day, as a student:

It's possible to visit the National Theater Museum and the Traje National Museum and gardens with a student discount, for 3€. As well as the Old Art National Museum... It's worth a visit!

The Monument to the Discoveries, in Belém, with the student discount, the entrance is 2€.

At the São Jorge Castle, the entrance for students is 5€.

At the Lisbon's Oceanário, students get 10% off, and the entrance stays at 12. 60€.
