10 coffee shops that you can't miss in Lisbon! #2nd Part!
Continuing the last post, that was already starting to be to much long, now I will end it with the other five suggestions that I still need to talk about. More five places that deserves a visit and that make Lisbon brighter.
6 - Fábulas:

Address: "Calçada Nova de São Francisco, nº. 14 - 1200-300 - Lisbon".
This is without any doubt, one of my favourites, and belongs to my top 3. It's located in the city centre, and it's kind of hidden in the first patio of the first block of those who ascend from the Warehouses of Chiado to Largo Camões. The inside it's not immediately revel, but the true is that is a cozy and nice place, like very few other cafes in Lisbon.
There is room for the most variate tastes, and the decoration it's usually changing. They serve full meals - dinners and lunch - or even some snacks in the middle of the afternoon. I would recommend the coffee, the ginger tea and the mulled wine - during Winter nights, it's amazing!
There were several times that I ended the night out with my girls, after the theatre, in this coffee shop. The place is calm, usually people are talking quietly. As the place is open until 1 am, it is possible to have some flexibility in your plans.
The prices are not the cheapest ones in the capital, but also they aren't that expensive. A piece of cake and a cup of tea can cost between 7 or 8 euros. In my opinion, it does worth it, in special occasions, like friends re-encounter or something like that. Deserves a visit!
7 - Manteigaria Fábrica de Pastéis de Nata:

Address: "Rua do Loreto 2, 1200-108 Lisbon, Portugal".
A little upper than the other place, there is the "Manteigaria Fábrica de Pastéis de Nata", is a tiny space embedded in one of the sides of Largo Camões, in the middle of Chiado.
While you're crossing the street and you start to feel the smell of these delicious Pastéis de Nata, you already want to get in and buy all the stock. The "pastéis" are creamy, and can't be compared with the others that I tried. You can add cinnamon and powder sugar, and you will see, it's even better. They also have coffee and the typical products of the other coffee shops.
The place is really small: last time that I went, they only had two or tree tables for two people, and some stools close to the balcony. When they have a lot of costumers, it's even boring to get in, because you can't enjoy fully the place. During the break time, it's better to avoid this place, because it's when is full of people.
A visit really worth it, and the best thing to do, is to drink a Delta's coffee and buy a little box of "Pastéis de Nata" and bring it home, more than staying there to enjoy the place However, a real and cunning temptation!
8 - Martinho da Arcada:

Address: "Praça do Comércio 3, 1100-148 Lisbon - Portugal"
This one is historical! I have to confess that I never drank coffee in here, but I already got in, more than once, and one of those times I talked with the employer to know more about the place, because it has a long history and a lot of things happen in this place. It's open from 7 am. until 11 pm., and only closes on Sundays. The name of the coffee is due to its location, because it stays really under of one of the arcades in Commercially Square or Terreiro do Paço, designed by Marquês do Pombal, that inaugurated this place in the 18th century.
Since that time, never stop working, and is the holder of the title of coffee, in more time in activity, on the entirely country: it's been more than 200 years since the coffee had the first costumers. Its history is connected to important literature characters, as for example, Fernando Pessoa, and the coffee still holds some of his objects and a table where he used to write on.
In the 90's of the last century, the coffee shop was remodeled, and nowadays it looks more like a coffee-museum, with an amazing dinning room, that only opens for special occasions. The coffee that you can drink at the balcony is the normal one, and it's not that expensive. This coffee shop is a "must" visit in the capital of the country!
9 - Confeitaria Nacional:

Address: "Praça da Figueira 18B, 1100-241- Lisbon".
The "Confeitaria Nacional" is paradise for those who love sweets! Specially during this time, Christmas, nothing better than a traditional coffee shop in Lisbon, that has been there for almost 200 years, that offers to the people of Lisbon the most flavorful and traditional national confectionery.
The place is nice, cozy and warm. Coated with wood and with a really classical atmosphere. Usually it is a place with a lot of movement, because a lot of people like to come and buy edible souvenirs from Lisbon to take home.
Besides having seated places, this is not a place for you to stay all afternoon talking, because it has to much movement for it. The smell that waft in the air it's amazing, but the coffee it's always crowded.
However, it does worth it doing a visit for those who want to try the traditional recipes, for example, the Bolo Rei (Cake of the King), specially during this time of the year! Come here at least once in your life!
10 - Café Tati:

Address: "R. Ribeira Nova 36, 1200-224 - Lisbon".
This is a really hidden coffee shop, in the Bairro Alto neighbourhood, with an informal and homey atmosphere. The decoration is simple and it looks like we never left our house, because it makes you feel like home, and you just want to enjoy a good coffee, or who knows, even a tea or a piece of cake.
Sometimes they have here Live Jazz - something that I still didn't try - but I bet it gives to the place a romantic and nice environment. This space is way more chill out, quieter than the other one. It's the perfect place for a date, for a coffee with friends or for a long talk.
A little peek!
For sure there are many more other places in Lisbon that should had been mention, so if I remember something more I will write it here, for the locals and for the Erasmus, that are in my beautiful city, city that I already miss a lot.
