What is it like to live in Limerick? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Limerick city is definitely a cool city to live in. Plenty of shops, bars, clubs, hotels, restaurants, and just things to do in general.

Generally, people are wonderful, but as is the case with any city, you have some townies that may be a bit rougher, and certain areas you would avoid. But overall, I love it.

I would certainly recommend living here

What is the student lifestyle like in Limerick?

Student life is absolutely mad! The university is excellent and tutors, lecturers and supports are of top quality.

There is a club and society for almost anything you can think of: skydiving, kayaking, law, English, tea appreciation, yup that one really exists.

Loads if opportunities to volunteer in different areas, environments, children, elderly, writing, Etc...

students do take their education seriously, but come 6pm, students are done for the day, and the alcohol comes out to play.

As someone who doesn't drink too much, you can feel a little left out, but honestly, joining the 'going out' crowds are worth doing. Brilliant fun. The fact that many student sacrifice food for a night out, shows how seriously they take having fun.

How much does it cost to live in Limerick?

Student accommodation can be expensive at €5, 000 a school year.

Some other places can be cheaper, but that means sharing houses with 7 other students.

Private renting is all about luck.... I rent in the town centre, a one bedroomed apartment, 20 mins away from the uni, and it's costing me €500 a month (excluding bills)

But others can find places for 350-400/month.

Just depends on how good you are at looking in the web.

Food is very cheap, in places like Aldi or Lidl.

Clothes shopping is cheap too... Penneys, the best place to go.

Internet is cheap (€20/ month)

Bus travel is cheap too... €4. 20 day pass for the whole city. Or €2 for one way.

Most things are cheap.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Limerick? Is there any advice you can give?

Easy to find.

Ask the Houston office in UL for help, or just Google Rent and search Limerick.

Easy to find, might be hard to afford.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Wonderful! They have everything for everyone.

I personally love the Indian food restaurants :)

What places would you recommend visiting in Limerick?

Johns castle, river Shannon, the university, Bunratty castle, and any parks or events advertised around the town.
