What is it like to live in Limerick? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I spent my time in Limerick studying as I was in college at the time... well if we can say studying! Limerick, for all the bad talk it gets really isn't that bad a place. Ok granted it can be rough but like any other town or city it is rough and dangerous if you go looking for that: IE: you'll find trouble if that's what your into!

The people are generally friendly and I do like to think that there's a friendliness and general Irishness about the place.

What is the student lifestyle like in Limerick?

Brilliant. Not going to lie I loved the place. Go to Clem Smyths on a Monday night, always a great laugh. Go to the Icon for a dance, and no night is complete (on a student night that is) without a trip to Mollys... the best laugh, craic and banter is had there!

How much does it cost to live in Limerick?

Not too expensive. I mean your always going to be conscious of your spending if your a student. I say shop in the pound places or a Tescos or Dunnes Stores, they always do the job.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Limerick? Is there any advice you can give?

Again it will depend on what your looking for. Official student accommodation within the various colleges can be quite expensive. However for a first year I would recommend student accommodation as it is an excellent way to meet new people.

I would say if there's a group of ye going to college or university try get a house. They can be that bit cheaper to rent, and I had the best years in college when my friends and I were renting a house together.

What places would you recommend visiting in Limerick?

Thomand Park isn't bad, I suppose King Johns Castle?

Is it good to eat out in Limerick? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, I love The Hamptons, Le Chocolate, Texas Steakhouse, etc. All of them are great for early bird restaurant food.

In a case of food after a night out then Supermacs is the dart!

Is the nightlife good in Limerick? Where is good to go?

Ya, pretty decent.

I'd say Icon, Smyths, The Office, Dolans, Mollys (only really if your a student).

What advice would you give future students heading to Limerick?

Enjoy it! Live it up, obviously be careful... but overall make the most of the place.
