Life saving informations for Lille

I have been to Lille for a period of 4 months in 2015/2016 fall semester through Erasmus programme. In this article I want to talk about my experiences. Like many of others it was my first Erasmus and experience in abroad by myself. My journey started on 5th of September from Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen airport. By the way I have to mention that it was my first plane trip and I have to say that I got scared time as I was sitting by the window side but it was a pleasant experience overall. I felt like in a dream as the plane went into the clouds and got out. After three hours of trip, I got of at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport. Airport was huge and it consists of three terminals. My flight landed on terminal 1. I changed to terminal to 2 with shuttle as I needed to use train to go to Lille. Up until this point I managed well with the knowledge I gained from my researches and asking to other people time to time. I also surprised myself with my ability of speaking English when I had to speak.

At first it was weird for me but I got used to it with time. My train trip took one hour and I paid around 30€ for that. At this point I want to share that, since it was my first time in Paris and I looked at on the internet, it was saying that the easiest way to go there from there is by train. But later I found it, if you buy early, there are buses that can get you there. By the way you should also keep in mind that to go back, I bought 1€ ticket from megabus to Paris. There are two train stations in Lille and they are in 10 mins distance to each other. I got out from Gare Lille Flandres and there was a metro stop right in front of me. My Erasmus coordinator sent my city map earlier. The rest was easy, I took the metro going to the direction of my university, science my field was economy my university was Sciences et Technologies Universite Lille 1.

I will give information about accommodation for those who are going to study at Lille 1. You can find a lot of residances and dormitories arounds so you won't have to pay for the transportation. I stayed at Reexlex Residence, the flats are for one person in residence and there are everything necessary for living. The flat costet 371€ when I stayed and CAF is helping students to pay their rental by covering some of the rent. I hope that this article would be usefull for other people.
