Why did you choose to go to Lille, Francia?
As they rightly say, in order to experience true France, stay outside Paris.
This is one of the reasons I chose Lille, to explore the diversities that France truly offers with its vibrant culture and Lille being a students destination.
What is the student lifestyle like in Lille?
Truly independent. I use this word to describe the life of an ordinary student living in Lille. Its coupled with responsibilities of staying alone and independent along with the perks of the same!
Lille might seem to be a typical European town in the north of France with seemingly cold weather, but when explored properly, its The Place for students.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Lille to other students?
I would definitely recommend the city and University of Lille to students who aspire to stay in a place which strikes the perfect balance between the hustle bustle of a city and a peaceful countryside destination.
The educational structure is perfectly designed to suit the interests of the students and allows them to choose and major in subjects they wish to study.
What is the food like?
Frankly, coming from a typical pure vegetarian family, I survived on bread and french fries for the first month. But voila! Lille is filled with Asian departmental stores and I could bring my Indian cuisine on the dinner table everyday.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Lille?
No. Airbnb is the way to go.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Well, its France afterall.
Getting your luck with english might be little difficult but the people are benevolent and a bit of Fran-glish will help you get your work done!
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Lille from your city?
Walk, walk and walk!
Lille is small city and its very convenient to walk about in the city.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Lille?
Rue Massena and Rue Solferino has all the possible clubs, bars and restaurants.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Lille?
To grab a quick lunch, Dog Sandwiches and Deniz are my personal favorite.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Palais des Beaux-Arts de Lille, Lille Cathedral and Vauban Garden are good places to visit.
