Why did you choose to go to Lille, France?

Great place for partying and meeting a lot of international students from around the world. Also very good location for travelling in Europe because it's near Paris and Brussels which have important airports.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

Accommodation per month varies but I would say the cost per month should be from 350 - 450 euros.

What is the student lifestyle like in Lille?

There is a street full of bars and clubs called rue Massena which is always full of students from around the world, from monday to sunday. This is the main place for going out at night and it gets very fun and crazy in here.

Also there are independent parties organized by schools which is exclusively for students of the school.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Lille to other students?

Yes, definitely. It is full of students from all around the globe so you will have the opportunity to meet a lot of cool people and party every day if you like.

What is the food like?

French food is generally good.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Lille?

There is a website called leboncoin.com which can help you find accommodation for free. There are also other websites like Gotoo Lille but they will charge you fees.

How much does it cost to live in Lille?

350 - 450 per month for accommodation. Food varies a lot.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I believe there are language courses at the university. French is somehow difficult but some people speak basic english.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Lille from your city?

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Lille?

Rue Massena, any bar.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Vieux Lille, it's a place which has old architecture but it is very beautiful. Great place for going at night and find a good restaurant.

Also there is a huge park called Citadelle, great for going for a run.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Lille in the future?

Practice basic french and get ready to party and meet a lot of people! And also check some RyanAir flights which depart from Brussels or Paris, you can get some pretty cool trips anywhere in Europe at good prices.
