Why did you choose to go to Lille, Francia?

I chose to go to Lille because I got the opportunity to attend EDHEC which is one of the top business schools in France.

What is the student lifestyle like in Lille?

The student lifestyle is resumed to bars and clubs in 2 main areas: Vieux-Lille and Solferino-Massena. Other interesting things to do are the museums and performance theaters in the city center, Tourcoing and Roubaix.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Lille to other students?

I would recommend the city to anybody that enjoys simple things. The city is small which makes it very easy to navigate and get use to. Transportation is excellent and the city itself is well-positioned (within 3 hours by train of 4 European capitals).

What is the food like?

The food is quite good. The cheese of the area is called "Maroilles". There are many dish from local restaurant made with this cheese.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Lille?

Accommodation can be found easily through both French and International websites. Furthermore, many Erasmus students exchange their place and it's very convenient.

How much does it cost to live in Lille?

It costs between 500 to 1000 euros per month. It will depend on where you want to live (Vieux-Lille is more expensive) and on how much you want to go out and party.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I was already fluent in French when I got to Lille.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Lille from your city?

Blablacar.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Lille?

Latina bar on Massena Street.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Lille?

"L'arriere-Pays" in Vieux-Lille is a must (need to reserve in advance because it's crowded during the weekend).

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

La Citadelle, La Piscine and Beaux-Arts

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Lille in the future?

Use Heetch when you go out. It's way cheaper than the taxis.
