What is it like to live in Leeds? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Leeds is a vibrant city with plenty going on. Great location thanks to transport links to other big cities. Yorkshire is a lovely part of the country, the Yorkshire Moors are easily reached by bus from Leeds. Would definitely recommend Leeds as a place to live. Big enough city with loads going on, but also quite compact so you can get everywhere easily.

What is the student lifestyle like in Leeds?

Leeds is very much a student city. Thanks to the large number of universities the city caters for its student population, many clubs and bars and great places to eat.

How much does it cost to live in Leeds?

As a city it is relatively cheap. There is Kirkstall Market where you can get cheap fruit and veg. Nights out aren't too expensive.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Leeds? Is there any advice you can give?

Because of the number of students there is a big surplus of accommodation available so it is easy to find somewhere to leave, even in September just before term starts. Rents range from £55-100 depending on which areas you choose.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Great variety of restaurants in Leeds for students.

What places would you recommend visiting in Leeds?

Shopping is great in the city centre, lovely arcades. Kirkstall market for food shopping. West Yorkshire Playhouse puts on great productions. 02 academy/ First Direct arena. Hyde Park picture house is a lovely authentic cinema in Hyde Park.

Is it good to eat out in Leeds? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Belgrave Music Hall does great burgers thanks to Patty Smith's, 2 for £7 on Sundays! Fuji Hiro is a great Japanese restaurant, expensive but worth it for the big portions.

Is the nightlife good in Leeds? Where is good to go?

Nightlife is great as it caters for different music tastes. Wire on Thursdays and Hifi on Tuesdays are great, Bierkeller on a Wednesday also a lot of fun.

What advice would you give future students heading to Leeds?

Leeds is a great city for students and very cheap compared to down south. Plenty going on in the city centre and lovely places to go outside of the city so make sure you explore.
