Why did you choose to go to Leeds, United Kingdom?

Because i had a contact in the company that i work in ( in Barnsley ), and i decided to live in Leeds because i wanted to live in a big city to discover many things ! So i have to drive to work everyday ( 60km per day ) but i don't regret it at all !

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I think that i'll receive something about 900euros, i didn't get them yet...

What is the student lifestyle like in Leeds?

I don't know much the student lifestyle because i'm doing an internship in a company based in Barnsley but the students i met in Leeds seems really pleased about it !

Would you recommend the city and the University of Leeds to other students?

I would definitely recommend the city, as i said i can't speak regarding the uni.

What is the food like?

The food is pretty good.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Leeds?

No

How much does it cost to live in Leeds?

I pay 400 pounds per month, that's about 500euros per month so it's a bit expensive ( even more if you desire to live in the city center or in some posh neighborhood like headingley )

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yeah, i think english is easy to learn and you'll improve really fast if you stay there a bit !

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Leeds from your city?

i drove there, so i took the ferry, which is expensive, but i think you can get there from Paris for about 100euros if you take the eurostar from paris to london and then a bus from london to leeds which is cheap.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Leeds?

So many places to go ! Depending on what you like, the city center is full of little clubs with differents styles. This is a really nice place to go out and meet people, everyone here is so nice, so kind !

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Leeds?

I've not been in many restaurant so far but i'll definitely do some before i come back to France !

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Leeds city center is worth being seen. Near leeds there is also a cute little city called York that you should visit if you come around. If you want you can go further and visit Manchester or Liverpool. If you are really motivated and that you want to do more i would recommend you to visit Scotland which is not that far, you can take a train to Edimbourgh, etc...

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Leeds in the future?

Well they shouldn't be afraid, that's a really really nice place to be. People are so kind that you won't believe it ! Cheers !
