30 year student searching for accommodation in Kyoto

I am 30 year student and will be arriving at Kyoto in the first week of November. I will come with one of my friend who will be staying with me. I am looking for single room whit communal kitchen and other accommodation facilities. There should be enough living space for two people and the the stay will be for minimum 6 months at the beginning and can be extended for two years if we are satisfied with the accommodation. We are searching for friendly neighborhood and landlord who supports and have no problem whit International students.
