What is it like to live in Kumasi? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Kumasi is a nice city to live. It was previously called the Garden City due to the beautiful nature of forest in the city. I strongly recommend this city to any student who has an intention of studying there.

What is the student lifestyle like in Kumasi?

There are two government Universities, one technical university and some few private universities in Kumasi. It is affordable to live in the school's hostel but quite expensive to rent an apartment or public hostel.

How much does it cost to live in Kumasi?

Approximately, it could a student not more than $200/month which includes food and accommodation to live in Kumasi

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Kumasi? Is there any advice you can give?

It is very easy to find an accommodation once you consult a trusted agent or realtor.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

There are several restaurants around that serve continental dishes but the most common dishes you can find are fufu, banku, fried rice and other local dishes.

What places would you recommend visiting in Kumasi?

Manhyia palace, Kumasi zoo, Kumasi city mall, Rattray park, Kumasi Museum are all interesting places one can visit in Kumasi

Is it good to eat out in Kumasi? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

It is very clean and safe to eat when outside in Kumasi. Ike's cafe and grill, X5 pub, Plus 2 pub,Tasty Queen are all my favourite spots to eat.

Is the nightlife good in Kumasi? Where is good to go?

There are several nightclubs within Ahodwo and Danyame that makes the nightlife in Kumasi enjoyable.

What advice would you give future students heading to Kumasi?

Kumasi is an interesting city to study but I strongly advice students not to stay outside alone after 10pm especially when a foreigner moves around darker areas.
