What is it like to live in Kufstein? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

There is the old town in the middle of the city with an impressive castle on the top of a smaller mountain. There is a lot of tourism for the relatively small city, but it's more a place for the older generation of visitors due to the history and the medieval buildings. There are also newer structures but they aren´t so exciting.

What is the student lifestyle like in Kufstein?

The university is very small (almost 2000 students) and quiet. It is next to the city park, so in the centre of the city.

The shared university flats are more in the outside, therefore it takes about 15-20 minutes to get from one point to the other. It is easy to find a quiet spot there for studying or hanging around.

How much does it cost to live in Kufstein?

  1. Living: Around 300-500 € in a shared flat. I guess 100 € less.
  2. Food: 200 €, more or less.
  3. Freetime: Around 200 €.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Is it good to eat out in Kufstein? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Due to the high tourism the quality of the restaurants is very high. I would say that you can eat pretty well everywhere, but pay attention there are huge differences between some locals regarding to the price.

Is the nightlife good in Kufstein? Where is good to go?

As a student yes, you can definitely have some fun in the city. There are every week student parties around, either in student flats or in some pubs. But if you don´t have access to these student parties the range of pubs is sobering in my opinion.

What advice would you give future students heading to Kufstein?

The inhabitants are pretty traditional in Kufstein. So respect their culture and you won´t have problems with them. But don´t worry you will have a great time there, I am sure about it.
