Avenue K shopping center (in the heart of KL)

Well well, I have been switching up so much between Iran and Malaysia, I'm just trying to make sure I give enough love and attention to both of my homes; you know I gotta keep the balance. So I was thinking, how I haven’t finished the shopping catalogue yet, like I haven’t written entries on all of my favorite shopping spots, so here we go.

This shopping center has possibly the greatest localization ever, being located in one of Kuala Lumpur’s most touristic spots, and it is still an affordable shopping place. The mall is called Avenue K, and it is located right in front of Suria KLCC or basically the Petronas twin towers. I'm not going to write a whole paragraph on how to get there. It is so easy and I've said it so many times that it physically pains me to be repetitive. There’s an LRT station for KLCC, you get out of the station and get on the escalator to get to the mall. There are also buses from Bukit Bintang, Pavilion, Ampang point, Ampang Park to KLCC and Avenue K.

The “Must go” stores

There are a lot of shops in this mall, but I'm going talk about a few of my favorites and the ones I think could be useful to you guys too

1) H & M

Well this brand doesn’t need any introductions; this store was one of the first stores to open up in Malaysia. it is also one of the best ones, there is always some ongoing sale in this branch of H & M, honestly there hasn’t been a time I've went here and there wasn’t a sale going on, at least on something. So I really do suggest checking it out, the diversity is pretty good too, almost as good as H & M in European countries.

This store has three different floors, one for children’s clothes, one for men and most importantly one for females. Take your time and look through everything, sometimes you can find unbelievably good quality and low priced items in between the racks.

2) Nichii

I think I have talked about Nichii before, it is such a famous brand here in Malaysia, it's a shame if I haven’t mentioned it till now. This originally Malaysian clothing brand, provides good quality clothing with really just prices, it is a rather medium range brand price wise. I honestly love everything in this store; it is elegant, chic and hot all at the same time. I mostly prefer to buy formal wear from them, like office skirts and coats. Their tops and shorts are also great but they aren’t usually my favorites. It is all personal preference though.

The store is located on the first floor of Avenue K, next to Dressing Paula. There isn’t a sale going on all the time like in the case of the H & M, but when there is you can really find valuable and worthy stuff in there. Like today when I paid a visit to take a look at the items and take some pictures for this article, I saw that they had a lot of good stuff going on. Skirts for less than 50 ringgits and shirts for 40 ringgits, given the quality of the brand, I’d say it's worth it. Check it out.

3) Kitschen

For some reason, one would always find Nichii and Kitschen next to another; they are also similar in style and kitschen is also an originally Malaysian brand. But I would say kitschen’s clothes are more punk and teenage like. They are also better for buying summer clothes, beach clothes and casual clothing like every day clothes but with a punk kick. The store usually has some sale going on, it all depends on your timing and luck, the price range is pretty much like Nichii as well.

4) Cotton on

Oh cotton on is just perfect, I'm serious it’s just perfect, specially the one in Avenue K. It has two levels, the first level which is located on the ground floor, has women’s clothing; it ranges from T-shirts, jeans, dresses, hoodies and sportswear. Cotton on just like H & M has an ongoing sale pretty much most of the year, although sometimes the stuff finish up so quickly that the sale is over before you know it. I personally love the quality of cotton on clothes, they are excellent and given cotton on is still super affordable, I don’t see any reasons that one wouldn’t love it.

(Cotton on store, second level, the men section)

The next level mostly has men and children clothing but then there’s this small section that has lingerie and shoes, yes it's pretty much next to one another. The lingerie section is amazing, they are so delicate and beautifully designed you just want to buy them all and then you realize you can’t and you just have to deal with the despair. Today I was there, and there was this lingerie sale going on, more than 50% off on selected items and they were all gorgeous so I tried them on and gosh they were pretty, you guys don’t want to know how my bank account is doing at the moment.

Oh and also before this gets too long, let me tell you guys about cotton on shoes, oh they are so good, at first you see the price and you’re like no it can’t be if it's that cheap but I bought a few last year and tried them on for a while and I can assure you they are extremely good for the price, no joke. They are super comfy, they look great and they last long, what else do you look for in shoes.

I hope this entry helps you guys with your shopping experience a little bit. As usual, get in touch with me; I would love to talk to you guys.

Cheers
