The introduction

Hello everyone, I hope, that you are all doing just fine.

In this article I want to tell you about Niels Bohr and the Niels Bohr Institutet, which is a Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen, Denmark, and I had a chance to visit it and see the things there myself.

Well, I’m sure, that you have all heard that Niels Bohr’s name from the school subjects mostly, and we know that name from our physics lessons, I guess. My physics teacher loved talking about Bohr and we knew many things about him even though it was not in our books to read some information about Niels Bohr. Well, we also learned about his atom model called the “Bohr Model”and it was in our chemistry class, where we first got to know about the Bohr Model and its importance.

For those, who doesn’t know, the Bohr Model can be about the hydrogen atom and it says, that there’s a negatively charged electron , which orbits a positively charged nucleus. And when a quantum jump happens, there’s an emission or absorbtion of an electromagnetic radiation. I want to tell you, that it was my grandmother, who taught me all that stuff about atoms and Niels Bohr Model and things like that. Though she was not my teacher at  school, she used to be a chemistry teacher and she knew a lot about the chemistryand she always read some news about it and she knew all the things, that were happening in the field and how many things had changed since she started teaching as a chemistry teacher.

Where is it?

The Niels Bohr institute is located on Blegdamsvej street just nearby the Maersk tower, which is a new panum for medical students of the University of Copenhagen. It's really easy to get there, because you will just see it from the street.

What to see

You should definitely check the Niels Bohr institute at night, because they have renovated it and they put the lights on it, which reflect on the building and it's like there are lit atoms all on the walls of the building , which is a wonderful thing to see.
